Weekly catch-up

The November-December edition of Constangy's Executive Labor Summary is out! David Hot Dog Man.flickrCC.JeleneMorrisPhippen has a good one (does he ever have any other kind?), including the current status of the U.S. Department of Labor's overtime rule (sick) and the Persuader Rule (still a pulse, but death is imminent), Secretary Thomas Perez's run for chair of the Democratic National Convention, and some dude in California who made more than $162,000 in overtime in a single year. Read all about it!

Over at FOCUS, our women's leadership blog, Mallory Schneider Ricci has the first of a three-part series (or should I say "the first trimester of a pregnancy") on practicing law while pregnant. Mallory's due date is imminent, but not to worry - she's already written parts 2 and 3, so we'll be able to read and enjoy the whole series while she enjoys her new daughter. (I believe that makes her both a supermom and a superlawyer.)

And, finally, a reminder that ConstangyTV's Close-Up on Workplace Law has a new December show, featuring Tommy Eden, who is -- as host Leigh Tyson calls him -- "Our Drug Guy." That is his official title.  :-)  Leigh talks with Tommy about all of the states that have legalized marijuana use and how employers -- especially employers in "legal pot" states -- should respond. Here 'tis, in case following a link is too much hard work after all of your holiday shopping:
